Meet the Accent Dentists PONSONBY Team

“The level of anxiety and fear I have with dentists is so extreme that I avoided dentists like the plague, for years. In saying that, after gentle and consistent coaxing, I had my first oral hygiene session with Jade (Karen) Hobbs this morning and was actually blown away. Her level of utmost care, concern, patience and understanding is beyond and she made me feel entirely at ease. Thank you so much for turning my fear/phobia into a positive and healthy mouth obsession. A healthy mouth is a happy mouth. I couldn't recommend Jade highly enough”

“No-one likes going to the dentist but with Matt and his team, my fears (of which there are many from past experiences) never came to fruition. Matt explained everything he felt needed to be done and how urgent or not, each procedure was. He then left it up to me with how I wanted to proceed.

I was extremely impressed with all the up to date equipment Matt had and, when it came to having a filling and crown, just how quick and painless each procedure was. I also spent time with Karen, the Hygienist, and her attention to detail and relaxed manner made another fearful visit a great deal easier.

Given my experience, I would be happy to recommend Matt and his team to anyone.”

“My fear of the dentist has always been taken seriously at Accent Dental. As a result I no longer dread the visit. It helps that my visits are usually with Karen Jade, who has a remarkable ability to make me calm. Jade and Matt are professional and also kind. Thank you. My teeth have to last as long as I do and you all are making it happen.”

“I recently had my Veneers replaced on my Front teeth at Accent Dental with Dentist Matt. I was very nervous initially but I found the experience from start to finish friendly, professional and I am very happy with the end result. My new Veneers look extremely natural and I have not experienced discomfort at any stage. I would absolutely recommend Matt and his lovely Team. Thanks so much.”

“Matt was very kind and professional throughout my treatment. I had a serious tooth infection and he explained clearly what was happening at every appointment and during the extraction, which really helped me feel calm and confident.

The whole team was also amazing — they checked in on me regularly and were always available to answer any questions. Great care and communication. Highly recommend.”

“I have recently moved from Dunedin where I had a trusted dentist and was nervous about going somewhere new now that I live in Auckland. Dr Matt Sumner absolutely exceeded all my expectations. He listened to my concerns, reassured me and made me feel comfortable the whole time. His attention to detail is exceptional and I couldn't be happier with the job he has done. I'm so glad to have found a dentist that I feel comfortable with and trust. I can't recommend Dr Matt highly enough. Thank you!”

“I had my teeth cleaned by Kira and she was absolutely amazing - I left with my teeth looking the best they have in ages! Kira is incredibly gentle but still very thorough and effective. You can tell she’s genuinely passionate about her work and about helping patients take better care of their dental health.”
